A few days ago I got 2nd place in the UKIPT London High Roller for £59,906, losing to Vanessa Selbst headsup.

In the very first hand of heads-up play I got A8s in the big blind; Vanessa min-raised and I just flat called. You could argue for a 3-bet here, but I felt Vanessa was going to call a lot of my 3-bets in position and make my life difficult. She also may 4-bet and I’d probably have to go with my hand even though I could get it in really bad. I’d rather play in a small pot with a strong hand that can definitely withstand some heat.
